How do I book my wedding hair & makeup packages?
You are more than welcome to contact me anytime and I will respond as soon as I can. My email address is sherylynnstyles@gmail.com or text me only 619-679-5082 You will receive a contract that will require you to sign which will include a non-refundable deposit of $200.
You can also check out my home page at www.sherylynnstyles.com and go to the tab - “Beauty Services” then “Bridal Services” and choose which package you are interested in and once you booked an appointment, I will be notified.
What is your Booking / Deposit / Cancellation Policy?
Once we have confirmed an availability on the day of your wedding or any special event, we will kindly ask you to sign the contract that will be returned to you via email, in person, or text message. The contract will also include the request for a non-refundable deposit of $200 on the day of your wedding or special event. A finalized contract will secure your booking and block off the whole day of your wedding or special events depending on the contract for the timeframe.
A $200 non-refundable deposit goes towards to your final balance due on the day of the wedding or any special event. And then there would be a remainder of the payment which is due on the day of and we are happy to accept cash or credit/debit card or Zelle.
Who will my stylist / artist be on my wedding day or special event?
I am the owner of this Salon and I am Deaf and speak American Sign Language. I will be your stylist and makeup artist. I am starting with a small team and hope to expand to a bigger team that will represent my Salon. I will personally make sure that you are pared with a stylist who best suits your bridal hair and makeup desires.
Whoever is selected to do your trial, will ALWAYS be your stylist / artist on your wedding day. They will be the stylist who completes BOTH your hair and makeup. The only time this ever changes is if there are unforeseen circumstance or illnesses, during which we will replace them with another stylist from our team. We will never leave you without a stylist, and don’t worry: We train every stylist on the team, so everyone will be properly equipped to ensure you are feeling and looking your best for your big day.
How can we communicate? I am hearing and do not know ASL (American Sign Language)
Oh Please darling, Please don’t you worry about me, you do not need to know ASL unless you wanted to learn. It is entirely your preference and I would respect you regardless. I am very easy going and my complete focus will b on YOU and getting my job done. Communicating with me will be easy and the least of your concerns. I can read lips. I can speak. And as a last resort we can always good old fashioned text or paper to communicate. No worries.
Do I have to pay the security deposit before I do a Makeup or Hair Trial?
Yes, because our team is in such high demand and we book on a first come first serve basis. In order to secure your wedding date, a deposit and signed agreement must be in place before any services are performed. If there is an unforeseen event or you decide to not move forward with us after your trial, you will not be responsible to pay the remaining balance of services contracted, We will simply expire your contract. However, any payments made, will still be considered “non-refundable” So an early trial is recommended if you are requesting a trial prior to moving forward.
What if I just need to cancel?
Please remember that any cancellation made within 14 days of the scheduled / booked wedding date, will result in full payment of the services scheduled. As we block out a large portion of time for any of our services we ask that you communicate any changes to your wedding day at your earliest convenience. If for some unfortunate reason you have to cancel your wedding date, please notify us right away via email or text.
What if I just need to postpone?
If the wedding date must be rescheduled, we are more than happy to move the wedding date ONLY if we have availability with the new date. Let’s hope that this doesn’t happen. However, there are a reschedule / postponement fee which is non refundable $100 in order to secure the new date. Because we blocked that special day for you and you only and we would lose an opportunity to provide services to someone else that day.
What if I book in a last minute?
We can accept last minute bookings ONLY if we have availability. More importantly, if you are to agree to that with such a short notice, you would understand that we would do our best to make accommodate your needs as a bride in such a short time. You would still be asked to sign a contract and deposit a non-refundable of $200. This is important to protect our time and yours.
What Payment Methods do you accept?
We are happy to accept any payment methods such as Cash, Credit Card / Debit Card and Zelle. Also, We have Square Up app and Zelle app.
Is gratuity included in the price?
No, gratuity is not included in our price. We leave that completely up to you. We do have Square Up app that accept cards when you are ready to pay for the services provided. If you wish, you will have the option to automatically add any gratuity via the app. Super easy!
When is the remaining payment due?
The remainder of your payment must be paid in full no later than a day prior to the wedding day.
Do I need to schedule a Bridal Trial? Why should I book my trial?
We always encourage all the brides to schedule a Bridal Trial after a signed Bridal Contract with a non-refundable deposit of $200 because this is an opportunity for you and I to connect and help me understand you and what you want. You are the most important role in this wedding and it is my job to ensure your desires and your dream. So we would try it with makeup and hair on the day you scheduled a Trial with us so we can accommodate and adjust to anything you want for your wedding day. That is very important. A Bridal Trial can be arranged based on a mutually agreed, convenient time and day between you and me. The sooner the better, so we can save the date and time just for you.
PLEASE REMEMBER: Only Bridal Makeup and Hair Trial would be added after a signed Bridal Contract with a non-refundable deposit of $200. No Contract No deposit would not able to guarantee you a Bridal Trial, because our services are first come first serve and want to make the time to commit for all the brides who would need our services. We are a professional team that will do our job to fulfill our bride’s dream. This is extremely valuable for the bride and me and ensure we meet your expectations on your big day. Great news, the advantage once you sign your contract and we receive your non refundable deposit of $200 , is that you can add on a Bridal Trial service that will save you time and hassles in the future. The Bridal Trial is completely up to you and not required but is highly recommended to ensure we get your look exactly the way you want it and allows us opportunity to figure things out and try different looks prior to your big day. If you decide to add a Bridal Trial, we encourage you to book your Trial session with either or both Makeup / Hairstyling at least 3-6 months prior to your wedding day.
Can I please schedule a trial for my mom/mother-in-law/bridesmaid?
Of course darling! The more the merrier! Anyone who would like to receive a Trial is more than welcome. Please have them coordinate with me directly for their appointment to be scheduled unless you guys are going together the same day/time. Champagne Styling party with your brides maids? Sounds like fun!!
My bridal suite is not available until late morning/Afternoon, How will we finish in time?
Some venues do not allow the bridal party to arrive early and in most cases our stylists begin services around 7:00-8:00 am on average. (timing varies per wedding) In these cases, we recommend getting ready at my studio or a hotel or residential home nearby and utilizing your bridal suite for staging fun “getting ready” photos afterwards. You can certainly have your stylists change locations however you do have to consider the timing it takes to pack up and drive to a new location. The “location Transfer” fee is $100 per stylist (10 minute travel time included) If new location is further than 10 minutes, there may be additional travel charge added.
Where is your salon? Can I please do it at your salon?
Sherylynn Styles is the name of my professional Salon Studio since I am an independent stylist. I am located in Imperial Beach and provide all the other services including wet services such as highlights, hair-color, haircut, and much, much more!
You are absolutely more than welcome to come to my studio for both Trial and Wedding Day at no charge! Your Bridal Party as well.
However, if you prefer me to come over to your residence, hotel, wedding venue, or your preferred destination that is great option too. Thus, if you change your mind and want me to come to you, of course I can be at your service with a traveling fee (Please see traveling fees below) and upon on our contract you will need to update and make an adjustment with the exact location for our services which include the additional travel fees associated. Please do your best to notify a least a month in advance if you decide to change the location where services will be provided.
Do you have a travel fee? What areas in Southern California?
Requesting my team or I to travel outside of my salon will require a travel fee.
Of course for an additional traveling fees would be:
$30- $40 - Imperial Beach, Chula Vista, Coronado, Otay Mesa, National City, Downtown, North Park, East County
$50 - $60 - La Jolla, Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Tierrasanta, Poway, Mira Mesa, Rancho Bernardo
$70 - $80 - Del Mar, Encinitas, Carlsbad, San Marcos, Escondido, Fallbrook
$150 & Up - Julian, Temecula, Murrietta,
$250-$400 - Orange County / Los Angeles
$400-$500 - Las Vegas
Why do we have a travel fee?
It is definitely convenient for us to provide any services at my salon as we have plenty of street parking and a comfortable salon chair waiting and full compliment of salon services available for all your beauty needs. However, if we would be traveling to you, we would alternatively bring you one of the best portable high chair with folding tray on your both sides, along with a full suite of up-scale hair and makeup products, amazing portable light stands that would highlight you like a star, and our own folding table and chair so we don’t interfere with your space.
Can I schedule my trial on a weekend?
In most cases, we do not schedule trials on weekends due to the high number of events our team is working during the weekend. If a weekend appointment is the only option for you, we will do our best to make it work, however availability is extremely limited and is often unavailable. If we are able to proceed with a weekend trial appointment, there will be a $50 weekend fee per stylist in addition to the trial fees.
Can I schedule my trial after work during the week? I work 9-5pm.
I am more than happy and can certainly book your bridal trial in the evening. Please just let me know which day and time and I will work with your schedule. So I can personally coordinate the schedule with my family. I work 9am - 3pm and commit to spend time with my son. Please understand that it is best to work during the day because LIGHTING IS VERY IMPORTANT
Can you travel outside of San Diego to our wedding?
Yes we can travel outside of San Diego if we have availability. Requesting my team or myself to travel outside of my salon will require a travel fee and/or flying fee.
Depending on where your location would be, flight would need to be arranged and our stay as well. Contract and Deposit would be confirmed with a finalized date.
Do we need to clean up or set up our space prior on our wedding day? Do you need to use our chair and table?
Your space is your space, however we would ask you to please give us a space where we can set up our folding 4 foot table with our portable high chair where you would be sitting and a portable light stand. All the tools such as hairdryer, hot tools, and airbrush makeup that we would be using will be placed on our folding table and will need to be close to working electrical outlet for our tools. Although, we will bring extension cords just in case. Also, it would be wonderful if we can set up close to a natural light source to give us the brightest work space possible. If you have a table ready, that would be nice as long as you are not using it but we would like to be respectful and make it convenient for you to use your own table for yourself so you don’t have to move your stuff around. We will definitely let you know a week prior and be happy to remind you the day ahead.
How do you keep your tools and products clean?
Hygiene and cleanliness is extremely important to us and of course we ensure all of our tools have been thoroughly cleaned before use. We use disposable mascara wands, eyeliner, sponges, eyeshadow brush, makeup remover wipes, cotton pads, and lip gloss stick. Also when using mixing palettes we would apply makeup products directly out of their containers on a separate palette. We sanitize all of our tools between clients using professional-grade, 99% alcohol brush cleaner.
Are lashes included in your services?
Yes sweetheart, fake eyelashes or strip lashes are definitely included in all of our prices for all clients - bride, bridesmaids and family members. If you don’t want fake lashes, we are more than happy to remove that from the service and can reduce $5 for that. It is entirely your personal preference, so please let us know what you prefer.
Do you offer hair extensions?
I do not carry hair extensions however we do LOVE them and highly recommend them to our brides for fullness and/or length, Our favorite place to purchase high quality clip-in hair extensions is called ‘ Hair Unlimited ‘ in Mission Valley, San Diego. They will customize a set of extensions to match your exact hair color and head shape. The extensions are 100% human hair and style beautifully for both up and down hairstyles. - All hair stylists are highly experienced with styling both clip in and permanent hair extensions. Extension applications start at $30+ per person. Also please keep in mind, our team does not cut hair so please have your extensions freshly trimmed (if needed) by your personal hairstylist.
What kind of make up products do you use on your clients?
As a professional Makeup artist, we use a variety from good quality and high end cosmetics brands such as M.A.C, Urban Decay, Makeup Forever, Bobbi Brown, Smashbox, Lancome, as well as some of you know about Temptu Airbrush products. These are amazing products that are long-lasting, water-resistance, and sweat-resistance.
What kind of hair products do you use on your clients?
As a professional Hairstylist, we use a very good quality and high end hair products such as Osis, Schwart, Paul Mitchell, Amika, and Kenra.
Do you do airbrush makeup?
I am very excited to answer that, yes!! We have Temptu Airbrush with all kinds of products. There is a package that you may purchase from our website “Glamourous & Gorgeous Makeup”. Please note that airbrush makeup needs to be applied to smooth, moisturized, hair-free skin. If you have any facial hair or a dry flaky complexion, it will adhere to the hair and flake off, making it more visible. For skin that is not completely clear, we recommend traditional makeup.
What do I need to do before the Wedding Day?
Please rest assured that we will send you a very clear instructions and a friendly reminder week prior and a day prior.
On that day of your wedding, please don’t wear any make up, wash and clean your face. You can apply your own moisturized skincare prior.
Please wash your hair throughly with shampoo and light conditioner on the end. Please don’t add any hair products and have your hair dried (either blow dried or air dried if fine). If your hair is still wet, we would have to add on to your services with a blow-dry service which is $50. However, it may not be guaranteed depending on how much time we may have and depending on if you have scheduled services for your Bridal Party. We may be required to move onto the next service until your hair is fully dried. If it is just you, then it would be no problem at all.
What do my bridal party need to do for the wedding day?
Please be sure that everyone arrives with a clean, exfoliated face and clean, dry hair. If anyone has curly or frizzy hair, they must arrive with their hair smoothed. We highly encourage that everyone have a picture or two on hand of how they would like both their hair and their makeup to look for the wedding. Pinterest is a very helpful source for all ages. Please be sure that everyone saves photos that are similar to their own hair type, hair color, skin tone, and eye color.
Upon on our contract, you will be asked to add each bridesmaid’s, guest’s, and/or mom’s contact information so I can reach out to them directly and don’t have to stress about scheduling this yourself; you have enough to worry about already. You are more than welcome to provide them my contact information as well. Don’t worry, I will send a friendly reminder to them the week prior and the day before. Thank you.
How long does the Bridal Trial take?
First of all, we definitely would want to get to know you personally and connect with you. You are the most important role for the wedding and to make every effort to meet your expectations. We use your Bridal Trial to the time understand wedding day look and give you exactly what you want. Therefore, I would say the Bridal Trial will take around 2 to 4 hours depending on the complexity of the hairstyle and make-up you want. My goal is to make sure you are comfortable and again, get exactly what YOU want.
Can I use my trial as my engagement session?
That is definitely a great question. Honestly, you can do whatever you want! Its your face, your body, your decision. But I would like to remind you this,
-Trial is designed for trying out a wedding day look, while your engagement hair and makeup is usually a different style.
-Some brides might not want their partners to see in advance how gorgeous they will be on the day, so having the engagement session booked separately can help you keep that secret ;)
-To perfect your look, we usually make adjustments to your hair and makeup at the trial. Making these adjustments requires a lot of time and can sometimes make the final product less clean. So a trial done beforehand help to ensure that you are comfortable with us to do your engagement style!
Is the deposit refundable?
Unfortunately no, I am sorry, however your non-refundable deposit of $200 goes towards to your final balance due on the day of the wedding or any special event. And then there would be a remainder of the payment with the services you choose, which is due on the day of and we are happy to accept cash or credit/debit card or Zelle.
Will you come on the military base to provide services?
Yes! Fortunately, I am a military wife myself and have an access to any military base. However there will be an additional $25 fee per stylist who is not a military spouse or have any convenient to access to any military base and would need the time advance to prepare the proper documentation for each stylist to access the base. Thank you for your understanding.
Do you offer a Military or First Responder discount?
Yes, we absolutely give discount to a military wife or first responder wife. We are beyond grateful for our honored military, Firefighters and Police. A 10% Discount will be applied upon request for active duty Military, Firefighters and Police ONLY (or direct dependents receiving the service). We simply ask that you email us a proof of copy of the individual’s active-duty military, or fire/Police photo ID. Thank you so much for all you do!
Do you offer group discounts?
Yes, the more the merrier as long as we are in the same place where it is convenient for stylist(s) to set up the tools, products and accessories. If you would like to request a different location after the first location we have been set for, we would have to ask you to pay extra fee for the relocation since we would have to repack, move everything, and redo the setup. We would be asking for $50 and up, depending on the distance to relocate. Thank you for your understanding.
Are there any discounts if I am referred by someone?
Oh my goodness hun, yessssss, there is, thank you!! You would absolutely get 10% discount so please don’t forget to put in their names under referral discount on our inquiry form or contract form, we will provide you with a referral discount for your wedding booking date.
Can I please keep my stylist / artist after bridal service on-site to do touch-ups?
Of course hun, we definitely want to be there for you so that you are at ease and don’t have to worry. Upon on our contract as you book us, we’ve blocked the entire day for you your event. In the event, something changes, we provide Add-Ons ready and at your service. Any stylist / artist can stay onsite for $130 per hour per for the Bride & $215 per hour for bride and Bridal party, per stylist. This price does not include style changes.
How long will it take for makeup and hair services to be completed on my wedding day?
Hun, it really depends on what hairstyle and makeup you and the others would love to have on your special day, but for planning purposes, I have provided some approximate time estimates below:
BRIDES:
-Bridal Hair & Makeup: 2-3 hours
-Bridal Hair Only: 1-1.5 hour
-Bridal Makeup Only: 1-1.5 hour
BRIDAL PARTY: depends on size; see below
-Five or less bridesmaids/mothers: 3.5-4 hours
-Six or Seven: 4-5 hours
-Seven or More: 5+ hours
Please remember, that the time frame is based off our arrival to final touch up, possible longer if you have decided to book any Add-Ons or if you needed us to stay longer for a touch up.
Would you please be able to come in early in the morning?
As long as there is some coffee made, then yes! Just joking. But yes, we can be there early hun. There will be an additional fee added to your invoice for services that require a start time earlier than 6:00 am. Beginning at $50+ (FEE IS ADDED PER STYLIST)
Are parking fees included in your pricing?
I’m sorry darling, the Bridal Services are the prices alone so unfortunately the parking fees is not included. Please provide the parking or valet fees and any specific parking instructions as well as directions. If you haven’t provided, we can add that as an additional fee to our service.
Can I try out more than one style at my Bridal Trial?
Of course you can, please know that with our Trial service is ONE hairstyle and ONE makeup application which is about 1 to 2 hours to complete. We can absolutely make any small adjustment if it is convenient-able to perfect your look. However, if you would like to try more than one completed look, this would add more time and you can certainly do so for $100 per additional style and per additional makeup. Otherwise we would have to reschedule another day with the same price with ONE hairstyle and ONE makeup application. Thank you for your understanding.
What if I changed my mind with my makeup / hairstyle look after the Trial?
Please know that our time is valuable but very important for us to make sure you are comfortable and happy with your look. If you don't like the makeup or hair we tried on you, you MUST let us know in detail what the issue was. We will not be offended at all and are more than happy to fix and change things to make you look exactly the way you want. Again, it is ALL about you. It is our job to make sure 100% happy and you look the way you want for your bid day.
I have so many great ideas for my wedding look. Would you please do it?
My pleasure!! This is one of most exciting and fun things I like to do! You and I will sit down together and we will look through lots of Pinterest/magazines/Instagram and select styles that you like. Then we will use the finalized trial plan that we develop together at the Bridal Trial where we will bring your unique style and look to life.
If you haven't seen anything you like or struggling, please be at ease, you must have your dress first and then we can decide from there. I would be like your best friend and understand everything that you want. Again, It is ALL about you hun.
How many stylists will I be provided with?
We provide 1 stylist for every 3 people You will have 30 days from the time of booking to finalize services on your proposal. After that 30 days, we cannot guarantee additional stylists will be available. If you think you will be adding services, we recommend letting us know as soon as possible so we can ensure we lock in the additional stylist if necessary. If you would like to finish in a more timely manner, Additional stylists can be added for a fee.
Can I please change my scheduled time (makeup and hair ready time) even though I signed the contract?
Most brides normally have their ready time confirmed at the time of inquiry, however, we totally get it if things get changed spontaneously. As long as there is no other events booked on the same day. Usually, upon on our contract, once booked with us, we would considered the whole day booked for you. It is depends on the number of people we would be working with. You may send us a message via email or text message, to discuss about the options of time changing.
Can I please add/change the quote after I made the non-refundable deposit?
Of course you can, you can always add or change the number of services up to one (1) month prior to your wedding day. Please send us a message via email or text message and we can discuss from there.
May I please ask why do I (Bride) pay more on the wedding day than everyone else?
